Haddi Michel : photographer

Michel Haddi, born 1956 in Paris.
At 20, he left France for Saudi Arabia, where he worked as an electrician a few months on construction sites. Back in Paris, he became a night watchman in a tiny hotel in Paris, where he met Wim Wenders and made ​​friends with the photographer of still lifes Ben Lee. He joined him in London and became his assistant and he was then 22 years.
Three years later, a series about dance published in French Vogue launched his career. He is becoming a regular contributor to Conde Nast Italy (Italian Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue, Vogue Gioiello, Pelle Vogue, Glamour), French Vogue and British Vogue, with which he won an exclusive contract and is working in parallel to magazine the Face, Arena, The Sunday Times in England.
In 1989 he moved to New York, becoming a contributor to Interview and work with American Vogue, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Esquire, etc..
In 1992 he moved to Venice Beach, California: there, he produced and directed the film medium intenational aka velvet, intimate docu-fiction on one of Andy Warhol’s muses, Susan Bottomley.
He created in 2002 a magazine dedicated to fashion photography: haddi & more, written in English and distributed internationally.
In 2004, he opened his London publisher: One Eyed Jacks Publishing Ltd..
He now divides his time between New York, Paris, London and Marrakech.
